This study aims to examine the transfonnation process based an three scenarios (BF/BOF base scenario, CH4-DR/EAF, H2-DR/EAF) regarding deployable technologies, required energy sources, energy infrastructure, and resource needs. lt relies on a material flow model that includes individual processes in the two lntegrated steelworks in Austria. By estimating energy quantities using production-specific energy consumptlon, conclusions can be drawn about changlng material and energy flows In the steelworks. The goal is to analyze not only processes directly associated with primary steel production but also those processes direclly or indirectly affected by the elimination of the blast fumace route in the integrated steelworks (e.g., combined heat and power plants).
