In the course of the lecture „Einführung in die Metallurgie“ the alumni afternoon took place for the first time. For the event we could win four alumni of metallurgy in Leoben, who took different paths in their careers. We were able to get Dipl.-Ing. Tanja Pfeifer from Pankl Racing Systems, Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont. Gregor Arth from RHI Magnesita, Dipl.-Ing. Dr.mont. Bernd Linzer from Primetals Technologies Austria and Dipl.-Ing. Harald Tschenett from Tiroler Rohre to be part of the event. Together the event was held via videoconference with students, who could ask questions.
In the beginning, each of the alumni introduced themselves and presented his or her career path to the students. Additionally, they presented their companies and explained in detail what their job entails. Then we had a round of questions for the alumni about their careers and their time at university. In the end each of them gave tips to the students for their future.
