The Peter Tunner Medal, which was donated by the ASMET Executive Board to mark the 30th year of its existence, was also awarded as part of the celebrations to mark 100 years of ASMET.
This medal is awarded to outstanding personalities who, in the spirit of Peter Tunner, have particularly promoted the iron and steel industry by combining theory and practice.
Prof. Johannes Schenk was honoured for his exceptional contribution to the design and implementation of sustainable processes in ferrous metallurgy.
His efforts in research and teaching have had a significant impact on the ferrous metallurgy in Leoben and far beyond over the last 20 years.
Congratulations from the Department of Metallurgy!
