We cordially invite you to the lecture “Measurement data acquisition in the steel industry – What use is the data?” by Dr. Andreas Quick.

When? 06/24/2021, 5:00 p.m.
Where. WebEx
No registration is required!

The collection of measurement data is a generally accepted and established approach, especially in the steel industry, but now also in many other demanding industries due to the digitalization trend. However, it is important to collect the right data with the right methods in order to meet the most diverse evaluation scenarios of different user groups with completely different objectives and still ensure a consistent database.

The presentation will show which possibilities there are to collect and record sensor data, data from automation systems and drives as well as from many other data sources. Furthermore, online, offline and process-synchronous evaluation and analysis methods will be presented in order to flexibly abstract the process behavior via characteristic values calculated from the measurement data, to monitor the process online with edge analytics methods and to extract information and knowledge from the data interactively and automatically.

Efficient measurement data acquisition and evaluation is the basis for analyzing, monitoring and optimizing the process, production and product quality and thus forms the basis for implementing a digitization strategy.
