On the occasion of Univ. Prof. Preßlinger’s 70th birthday, the Department of Metallurgy arranged a symposium under the title “Iron- and steelmaking – yesterday, today and tomorrow” last week.
To honor Univ. Prof. Preßlinger’s work, there were lectures of companions who worked together with him over the years: Univ. Prof. Clemens Eibner of the University Heidelberg, Univ. Prof. Hiebler, Montanuniversity Leoben, Dr. Peter Reisinger, voestalpine Stahl GmbH as well as ao. Univ. Prof. Christian Bernhard, Montanuniversity Leoben and Dr. Sergiu Ilie, voestalpine Stahl GmbH.
Univ. Prof. Preßlinger himself also told the audience about his studies in the field of “Metallurgy in the Bronze Age – the origin for a prosperous industrial society in upper Styria”.
As a thank you, Univ. Prof. Schenk presented a casted Barbara statue as present for Univ. Prof. Preßlinger’s work.
